CollegeReady’s mission is personal to me. As a first generation college student with financial need, there were many obstacles that I had to overcome in choosing a college, and being able to persist until I graduated. Our programming offers support to students that helps them to identify and overcome those obstacles. It means a lot to me to be a part of that service to our kids and the communities we serve.
My bachelor’s degree in Communication Processes from UW-Green Bay had an emphasis in Organizational Communication with a goal to work in non-profit management. I have been fortunate enough to work for many non-profits in a variety of capacities. Almost 20 years later, I returned to NWTC and obtained an associate’s degree in Accounting. This degree has enhanced the ways that I can serve the organization to include accounting functions as well as data management, quality control and beyond.
Pretzels, Cheese and Pickles – I have to have all three together though.
Honestly, I would have to say nap. Although I almost never do. Sleeping is amazing! My favorite thing to do, other than sleep, would be to travel to my hometown to see my mom, and sit and visit with her on her front porch.
