It is humbling to reflect on my identity as a first-generation student as I celebrate the students in the NEW Scholars program who share this identity. My personal experiences have helped enhance my connection and care for students and families. I have had professional positions in education, coaching and counseling that involved working with a variety of age groups ranging from kindergarten through college and adults. My previous role was with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay as the Rising Phoenix Manager. The Rising Phoenix program works with traditionally underrepresented high school juniors and seniors who are dually enrolled in high school and college at UW-Green Bay!

My favorite thing to do on the weekend is to spend time outside gardening or hiking with my dog Chance and partner Tony!

I would say it is a toss up between Summer and Fall. I love summer’s bright sunshine, but I love the crisp air that fall brings.

I would bring an endless supply of noodles, marinara sauce and garlic toast. I think I could live off spaghetti.
