In addition to meeting so many awesome local students, my favorite thing about working at CollegeReady is knowing that what I do makes a positive impact on them. From administering our scholarships and working with high school seniors, to sharing stories about our programs and organization through marketing and social media, I am proud and honored that my work has a powerful purpose.
I also love our team! Everyone here at CollegeReady – our staff, board and volunteers all make it their personal mission to help students succeed.
There is something new or valuable to learn from any job, no matter what the job is! One meaningful position was my internship abroad in college, where I worked at an entertainment public relations firm in London. I learned a lot about what I liked and didn’t like, and found traveling and studying abroad to be a fantastic experience that I would recommend to every college student.
I can honestly say that all of my past experiences helped to shape me into the professional I am today. I’d like to think that I’ve acquired a solid, real-world foundation of knowledge and skills, which ultimately led me to my role here at CollegeReady.
I like being outside, so summer and spring are tied as my favorite seasons. The trees blooming and birds returning home after a long winter makes spring pretty magical, and summer means being in my garden, biking, and enjoying live music outdoors. Wisconsin’s four seasons are beautiful, even the freezing cold winters.
Chocolate chip cookies! Oh, and chips… especially if there’s salsa or chip dip involved.
