My favorite thing about working at CollegeReady is knowing that every day I make a positive impact on local kids. From administering our scholarships and working with high school seniors, to sharing stories about our programs and organization with the community through marketing and social media, my work has purpose.
I’m so fortunate to be on such an outstanding team – everyone here has made it their personal mission to help students succeed.
Through my previous employment in publicity and public relations, office management, and customer service, I have picked up on-the-job skills that have benefitted me throughout my career at CollegeReady. I wear a lot of hats here – accounting, marketing, scholarship administration, event planning, etc. – and each position I’ve held before joining the CollegeReady team in 2013 helped me develop as a professional. After participating in an internship abroad while studying Communications at UW-Stevens Point, I acquired a solid, real-world foundation of knowledge and skills, which ultimately steered me toward the meaningful work I am doing today.
I like being outside, so summer and spring are tied as my favorite seasons. The trees blooming and birds returning home after a long winter makes spring pretty magical, and summer means spending time in my garden and enjoying live music outdoors. Wisconsin’s four seasons are beautiful, even the freezing cold winters.
Chocolate chip cookies!. Oh, and chips… especially if there’s salsa or chip dip involved.
