What’s the best part about working at CollegeReady?

The best part of being at CollegeReady is working with amazing students that have lots of untapped potential, and helping them develop skills that will allow them to become better students. Another part that I love is working with an amazing team that supports me.

How did your education or previous life experiences prepare you for your role here?

After initially studying Radio, TV, and Film at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, I graduated in 2014 with my bachelor’s degree in Spanish. After college, I used my skills and my degree in the customer service field, where I developed as a professional before honing in on the field of education. I later accepted a position as an Admissions Counselor for the Hispanic/Latinx community at UW-Oshkosh.

Now in my role as NEW Scholars College Access Coordinator, I am using my educational and life experiences to show younger students that with a little hard work and perseverance, they can make far in life.

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekend?

I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family. I am also a big movie buff and really like watching movies. I work on cars and like to do fun things, but mostly relax after a long week.

Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter? Why?

SUMMER! I come from a hotter climate and really do not like cold weather. I do however, enjoy snowboarding in the winter, but that is the extent of my time out in the cold. I feel like I can get more accomplished during the summer.
