About CollegeReady

Founded in 1962 as Scholarships, Inc., CollegeReady is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Green Bay, Wisconsin that provides financial and academic support to college-bound students.

Our mission is to encourage and invest in area students to succeed in higher education.

CollegeReady creates hope and brighter futures for youth of all backgrounds in Northeast Wisconsin. Through scholarships and college readiness programming, we help students break down barriers to higher education and change their lives.

Thank you for your interest in our FAFSA Help Workshop to celebrate Give BIG Green Bay!

After being chosen to participate in Give BIG Green Bay 2024, CollegeReady decided to celebrate by offering a FAFSA Help Workshop to students and parents in the commuity.

Submitting a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) gives students access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college, but this year’s FAFSA has undergone many changes, resulting in significant completion difficulties and processing delays. Families in our community can benefit from this opportunity to ask questions and receive hands-on help, which will be available in English and Spanish.

Funds raised for CollegeReady during Give BIG Green Bay will benefit the NEW Scholars program, which helps underrepresented youth graduate from high school and pursue a college education. Give BIG Green Bay is designed to transform the way local residents think about and contribute to Brown County charities, and will happen on Feb 21-22 from noon to noon.

Our Programs

Scholarships

Each year, CollegeReady provides over $500,000 in college scholarships to hundreds of students in Northeast Wisconsin. We are proud to have awarded over $13.4 million in scholarships over the past 61 years.

In 2023, CollegeReady awarded more than $507,000 in scholarships to deserving college-bound students.

College Readiness

CollegeReady’s NEW Scholars college readiness program is an afterschool program available to Green Bay middle and high school students who will be the first in their family to earn a college degree.

Through academic support, college prep, parent workshops, service learning, and so much more, NEW Scholars breaks down barriers to higher education that exist for many low-income and first-generation students. Fundamental components of the program include reading, writing, character development, and parent engagement.

Participating students earn up to a $5,000 scholarship to the college/university of their choice.

NEW Scholars is pronounced “new” (not “n.e.w.”)
